.pi Domains: A New Platform-Level Utility
Domains
are an essential part of the online world, and Pi Network is launching its own—.pi domains. These
unique digital addresses allow businesses, brands, apps, and individuals to
establish a presence within the Pi ecosystem. The .pi domains function
similarly to traditional domains but with two key differences:

They
operate within a Web3
environment, integrating seamlessly with the Pi Browser and
other blockchain-compatible services.
2.
They
are acquired through
blockchain technology, with Pi as the exclusive currency for
auctions and payments.
This
initiative is more than just a domain service—it’s a platform-level utility
that strengthens Pi’s use case. Unlike many virtual properties with uncertain
applications,.pi domains already have real-world
utility. Businesses can set up recognisable shopfronts,
developers can build apps on custom domains, and brands can enhance their
visibility within the ecosystem. The .pi Domains Auction is conducted entirely
in Pi, reinforcing its value as a currency and supporting network-wide
development.
How the .pi
Domain Auction Works

Eligibility: Open to the entire Pi community, including
individuals who acquire Pi through centralised exchanges.

Auction
Period: March 14, 2025–June 28,
2025.
·
Participation: Pioneers can bid on .pi domains via domains.pinet.com using the
Pi Browser.
·
Bidding
Rules: The minimum bid starts at
10 Pi, and the highest bid wins the domain.
·
Gas Fees: A small transaction fee applies for bidding,
modifying, or withdrawing a bid.
·
Fair
Process: Certain reserved
domains (e.g., ‘pi’, ‘core team’) and offensive language are excluded.
This
auction helps drive blockchain adoption and strengthens Pi’s position as a leading
digital currency within Web3.
Pi
Fest: The First Open Network Shopping Event
To
celebrate Pi Day 2025, Pi Network has officially launched Pi Fest, a global
event where Pioneers can shop at local Pi-powered businesses. Running from March 14–March 21, 2025,
this event allows users to discover businesses accepting Pi through the Map of Pi app and
easily make purchases using their Pi
Wallet.
Merchants
and shoppers are encouraged to share their experiences on Fireside Forum and
social media using the hashtag #Pi
Fest to highlight the real-world usage of Pi in commerce.
Expanding
the Main net Ecosystem
Pi Network
makes it easier for developers to build and launch Pi apps. Now, developers
who meet Main net app
requirements can apply directly through the Developer Portal,
eliminating the previous pre-approval step. This change aims to:

Allow
more developers to apply without delays.

Increase
the number of Main net apps available in the Pi ecosystem.
·
Support
network growth and innovation.
Not all apps
will automatically be listed—each must meet quality, functionality, and
compliance standards before gaining visibility in the Pi Ecosystem Interface.
However, this streamlined process encourages
more developers to contribute to Pi’s expanding ecosystem.
Enhanced
User Experience with a Redesigned Ecosystem Interface
To improve
navigation and accessibility, the Pi
Ecosystem Interface has been redesigned. Instead of cluttered
labels, apps are now marked with simple badges:

M for Main net apps
·
T for Test net apps
·
! for apps not yet on Pi Net
This cleaner
layout enhances usability,
making it easier for users to find and engage with community apps.
